Toga Party.

Post by muntzy »

G'day all,
Went out to Corroboree on Sunday with Ponyplay after getting a reliable tip from a mate who had been cleaning up out there. Hmmmm!!
On the water before sunup and there was not too many boats cruising around, saw one fffer with a boat load, must get a sticker for my old girl.
Headed up to around the weather station and trolled for a bit nothing, then as the sun came out we flicked fizzers and weedless softies into the lillies, heaps of hits and landed a couple of toga, using Gamakatsu worm hooks I seemed to hook most fish with the hook going from the eye into the mouth with the gape on the outside.... insight into how they were striking..
Had the leccy putting along and wandered up towards the S bends, flicking lillies and snags, managed to land a 63cm barra, Then the wind that kept us away from Shoal Bay arrived, Fuggitall!!!
Tried to perservere around the S's and anywhere we could find a sheltered spot but it was damn slow.
About 1pm most boats seemed to head past us back towards the ramp, almost joined them but we stuck it out.
Around 3 we went past the boat ramp into the section up there and had a hit and a hookup for 8 troll runs in a row right along the first weed bed as you get round the corner,in about 1.2m of water all around 50-54cm some of them fought well above their billabong reputation. Heaps of crocs out around this area saw a big fella chasing another one was hoping for a bit of action, but the little fella high tailed it.
The Pony and I were frustrated by the wind but any day on the water beats mowing the lawn so no complaints. Barra were caught on little lucy mint slice and a clear and green colour and Squidgies 110mm white rigged weedless.
As we left BP palms on the way out there would have been 20 or so cruisers with all the boys heading out for a goose shoot, not dumb those birds millions of them around Corob.
Cheers Muntzy.

That wind is a pain when it starts howling out there. Good to see you got some to keep you busy.
