Here's a few ideas out of Darwin ...

1. Darwin barramundi day trips ... some of Australia's finest barramundi waters are within day trip range from the city. Driving time is about 2.5 hours each way. Most barra boats take from 3 to 5 people, but guides will take fewer if you want more personal service. Overnight and extended trips are popular, and we can organise sleepovers in a tent, a lodge or even an airconditioned mothership.

2. Darwin barramundi half-day trips ... these are available in Darwin Harbour and they have a good chance of success on the right tides and right time of year. We will advise you when the time is right. Half day trips are also available all year chasing black jewfish, spanish mackerel, longtail tuna and mud crabs.

3. Mothership tours ... visit remote areas and catch the gamut of northern fish. Trips across the Top End as well as the Gulf of Carpentaria and Kimberley can be arranged. Feast like royalty on fresh seafood and fish until you can fish no more.

4. Darwin reef fishing day tours ... catch black jewfish and golden snapper on the coastal reefs. Half days and evenings also available.

5. Overnight and extended reef fishing trips ... visit the wide shoals off Darwin where red emperor, huge cod, coral trout, monster mangrove jacks, nannygai, chinaman fish and many pelagic fish are found. These trips are popular and highly recommended - you will literally come home aching from the ongoing tussles with big fish.

6. Specialist trips are available for fly fishermen on harbour flats and inland lagoons. Huge milkfish are available in Darwin Harbour and are unique in their power and overall difficulty.

1. A 25% non-refundable deposit on booking, and the balance paid at least seven days before the trip commences. Payment can be by direct deposit, credit card, Paypal or cheque
2. You will need to book your airfares

Answers to frequently asked questions ...
1. Tackle is usually supplied on a pay if lost or damaged basis. Most operators are happy for you to bring your own fishing gear.
2. Operators will normally provide food and soft drink. Supply of alcohol and other items should be discussed well before your trip.
3. You will need good sun protection. Long sleeved cotton garments are recommended, and a hat with a neck flap.

The best times to fish depend on the fish species you are chasing, and the region. This needs to be discussed with FISH FINDER TM staff before you book.
